Short bio:

Laura Gates-Lupton is the co-host of the Woman Uncaged podcast, and is a life and money coach for women at midlife who want to become primary earners. As a former psychotherapist, Laura sees this task of establishing and growing the identity of an earner as part of a larger developmental phase that many women miss because we’re taught that someone else will financially support us. Her clients love the work that they do and the people they serve, but struggle with the business side of things (asking for money, enforcing policies, raising rates, etc.) She provides the emotional and practical support necessary to help her clients make changes that result in less work while earning more.

My Audience:

My ideal audience are over-working, underearning services providers who are over 40. They tend to be big-hearted, caring, giving, talented professionals who are very focused on serving their clients/customers, and tend to neglect their own needs and desires. Most often they are women or other marginalized people who work for themselves, who are generous in the service they provide, and who don't tend to the business side of things. For example, they will offer a free workshop, but forget to include a CTA (or will only briefly mention it). Despite working hard, they struggle with earning enough to sustain themselves. They tend to be community-minded, relationship-oriented people who care deeply about others, and making a contribution to a better world. They have come to a point where they feel tired and trapped. Frequently there is marital tension because their spouses are tired, too. Tired of having to be the breadwinner, tired of seeing their spouse work so hard for so little return. These women come to me because they realize that they can’t keep doing things the same way and expect a better result.
